PhytoLog Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 October 2026

PhytoLog: Plant Watering Log (Google Play app ID com.FalconCode.PhytoLog) is a plant-care app published on Google Play by Falcon Code (Devalk.xyz, KvK 42069919, Weesp, the Netherlands, www.devalk.xyz) ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described below. Questions about privacy: plantsupport@devalk.xyz.

What we collect

Account data: your email address, a user ID, how you sign in (email and password, or Google) and, if you sign in with Google, the name on your Google account.
Content you add: plant names and details, rooms, care history (watering, feeding, rotation, water-meter readings), notes and photos.
Technical data: when you sign in and use the app, our service provider Google processes your IP address and basic device and browser information to run the service and protect it against abuse.
On your device: the app keeps a copy of your data and your notification settings in the app's storage on your device, so it loads quickly and works offline.

Why we use it (legal basis)

To provide the app and keep your data in sync across your devices: necessary for our agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To answer your questions and support requests: our agreement with you and our legitimate interest.

What we don't do

No advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell or rent your data.
Your plants, notes and photos are private to your account. Other users cannot see them.
Care schedules are suggestions calculated from what you enter. We make no decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects.

Who processes your data

We use Google Firebase (part of Google Cloud) for sign-in, our database and hosting this website. Google acts as our processor under its data processing terms. Google may process some data outside the European Economic Area; such transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. We share your data with no one else, unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

As long as you have an account. When you delete a plant, note or photo, it is removed from our database.
When you delete your account, your account and all its data are deleted from our database immediately. Residual copies in Google's systems (for example backups) are removed within Google's standard deletion periods.
Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

Your rights

You can view, correct, export and delete your data at any time in the app (Profile → Privacy & data). You also have the right to restrict or object to processing and to data portability. Contact us at plantsupport@devalk.xyz; we respond within one month. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the data protection authority in your country.

Deleting your account

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored encrypted by Google. Database access rules ensure that only your signed-in account can read or change your data. If a data breach affects you, we will inform you and the authorities where the law requires it.

Children

PhytoLog is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
